Det ska det inte göra heller, det gör inte det i terminalen.
Tryck bara enter efter att ha skrivit ditt lösen.

If this a going to be used as a bridge for an xbox, then some additional steps must be taken.

After following the above guide and plugging in the xbox and bridged computer, check the assigned static IP on the computer.

1) In the terminal on the Linux computer, execute ifconfig.
example based on the above screenshots: ifconfig eth0

This will give you something like the following:

The important part is the inet address. This is the IP address of the network interface eth0. Based on the direct link relationship between the xbox and your computer, the computer is now treated as the gateway.

The xbox will now need to have its network configured. Change the xbox to have a static ip configuration. You will have to give it an IP in the same subnet. Since our subnet was configured as 255.255.255.0, you can use an IP in that range based on the network address portion of the eth0 interface that isn’t already used.

2) Give the xbox an IP that isn’t used–staying in the same subnet!
ex: Since our network address is 10.42.43.xxx and the computer (gateway) is set to 10.42.43.1, we can set the xbox to 10.42.43.10 or 10.42.43.11.

3) Set the subnet mask.
ex: The subnet mask on the computer (gateway) was set to 255.255.255.0. Just copy this in

4) Set the gateway.
ex: As discussed above, the gateway is actually the IP of our computer. In this example, the gateway is 10.42.43.1.

That should be it! After setting this, you should have network access with the xbox. With newer computers (basically every laptop/desktop NIC these days) you won’t need a crossover cable as the NIC ports are autosensing.

Don’t forget to reset your Xbox network settings to automatic (DHCP) if you ever change configurations!
